ter promotie van hun nieuwe album Some Nights

Volgende week dinsdag 22 mei is de Amerikaanse band fun. in ons land om hun nieuwe album Some Nights te promoten. Het album komt in Nederland op 25 mei a.s. uit. De band zal onder andere te gast zijn in de ochtendshow van Giel Beelen op Radio 3FM en verschillende media te woord staan.
In de VS kwam het album op #2 van de albumcharts binnen. Some Nights is geproduceerd door Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Beyonce) en is het tweede album van fun. na hun debuutalbum Aim And Ignite (2009). “Some Nights has a common theme of guilt and depression and laying everything on the table, sure, but there’s always some sort light at the end of the tunnel,” vertelt frontman Nate. “That’s what this album is striving for, to say something along the lines of ‘Okay, I found that light, but it’s just led me to another situation where I need to find the light again.’”
Nate Ruess, Andrew Dost en Jack Antonoff - die samen fun. zijn - scoren een grote hit met hun single We Are Young featuring Janelle Monáe. In de VS stond We Are Young wekenlang op #1 in de Billboard Hot 100. De single is daar inmiddels meer dan 5 miljoen keer verkocht en is daarmee de best verkochte digitale single van 2012 tot nu toe. In Nederland gaat het ook erg goed; zo staat We Are Young in zowel de airplay- als de singlecharts in de top 10 en werd de single eerder al benoemd tot 3FM Megahit. Later dit jaar zal fun. nog een keer terugkeren naar ons land, want op 19 september treden zij op in Melkweg.
